Celebrating 100 Years with a Century-Scale Foxhunt!
As part of our landmark 100th Anniversary celebrations, the club has decided to host an upcoming Foxhunt!
To kick things off and get everyone prepared, our latest meeting focused on building the essential gear needed for the hunt: portable direction-finding antennas.
Soren started the session with a warm welcome and a brief tutorial, bringing both our guests and seasoned members up to speed on the art and science of portable Yagis. He explained the core techniques of how to build one using an old tape measure, and why having a specialized, highly directional antenna is absolutely critical for tracking down the hidden transmitters.
Following the briefing, Soren and matt generously provided all the necessary kits and tools, allowing us to build about 10 custom portable antennas on the spot. It was a fantastic, hands-on workshop that has everyone primed and ready for the big event!
